WhisperPDF · Free Rotate PDF tool

Rotate a PDF — and make it stay rotated.

Scanners love feeding pages in sideways. Turning your head — or your whole laptop — gets old fast. Rotate every page 90°, 180° or 270° here, save it, and the file opens upright everywhere, forever.

How to rotate a PDF

  1. Open the Rotate PDF tool on the WhisperPDF homepage and add the sideways PDF.
  2. Pick the angle — 90° clockwise for a page lying on its side, 180° for upside-down, 270° if 90 went the wrong way.
  3. Rotate and download — the new file has the rotation baked into every page, so it opens upright in any viewer, email preview or print dialog.

Why fix it here instead of uploading?

Rotating sounds trivial, but there's a catch with the quick fixes: rotating in a PDF viewer usually only changes your view, not the file — send it on and it's sideways again for the next person. This tool rewrites the page rotation into the file itself:

  • Permanent, not a preview trick. The saved PDF carries its new orientation everywhere it goes.
  • No upload for a ten-second job. Your document is processed in the browser and never transmitted.
  • Quality untouched. Rotation changes page orientation metadata — your content is not re-rendered or compressed.
  • Free, every time. No task caps, no watermark stamped on your fixed file.

Rotate PDF — questions, answered straight

Why does my PDF look fine on my screen but sideways when I send it?

Your viewer was probably rotating the view, not the file. Email previews and other people's viewers show the file's saved orientation — which is why the fix has to be written into the PDF, like this tool does.

Can I rotate just one page?

This tool rotates every page in the document by the same angle — which is what sideways scans almost always need, since a scanner feeds the whole stack the same way. If only one page is wrong, split that page out first, rotate it, and merge it back.

Does rotating reduce the quality?

No. Rotation is orientation metadata; the page content itself is not recompressed or redrawn.

Which angle do I need?

If the top of the page points left, rotate 90°. If it's upside down, 180°. If the top points right, 270° (or 90° three times in other tools — here just pick 270).

Will the rotation hold when I print?

Yes. Because the orientation is saved in the file, printers and print previews read it the same way your viewer does.
